OLIVE + ROSE is proud to launch the Whiskey + Lace Capsule Collection for Spring 2021.
Inspired by the laid-back luxury inherent to the Sonoma County lifestyle, this collection embodies effortless style with everyday functionality. We’re pleased to offer a range of unique and handmade items including furniture, textiles, ceramics, health and wellness products, and local pantry staples.
Launching in four parts throughout Spring 2021, the collection is a collaboration between Chelsea Miller, interior designer and owner of Olive + Rose Studio, and Erika Altes, lifestyle blogger and founder of Whiskey + Lace.
The two met when Erika approached Chelsea to design a new home for her family - her husband Mark and two children. The two hit it off throughout the design process, and as the project gained attention through Erika’s social media following, launching a collection together seemed like a natural next step.
“My focus for the project was to source high quality, durable, and family-friendly materials that tell Erika and Mark’s story through design,” Chelsea explains.
The collection includes some of the same products in Erika and Mark’s new home as well as items inspired by the project and Erika’s aesthetic.
“I would classify the style of our home as ‘Modern Cottage’. Our main goal when it comes to this home is that we want it to feel warm and welcoming. We want people to walk in and feel right at home.” - Erika Altes
The Living Room
Erika and Mark’s living room is the heart of the home and is full of warm and homey accents. It’s a space to gather with friends and family.
Every detail was curated thoughtfully and is full of personality, like this stunning artisan Bleach Platter. The natural wood adds an element of rusticity and warmth to any space. It’s the perfect feature for your dining, coffee, or accent table.
“I love this piece because it is one of a kind and I think there is so much inherent character when you incorporate unique handmade elements like this tray,” says Chelsea.
Other items like this Linen Pillow are a great accent piece for a sofa or chair in any living space. Chelsea explains that Erika’s “signature color for the home is a pale french blue with lots of light wood accents.” She loves clean and classic design with touches of femininity throughout.
The Master Suite
Mark and Erika’s master suite is cozy and elegant. Full of soft and plush surfaces, it’s the perfect haven to decompress after a long day and get a good night’s sleep.
Add some warmth and comfort to your bedroom or living area with this Akka Geometric Linen Throw. Super soft and luxurious, it’s the perfect accent blanket for a bed, chair, or sofa.
Transform your master suite into a sanctuary with a romantic and earthy Maison Louis Marie Candle.
“Erika's signature fragrance is the Bois de Balincourt scent. She always has this scent burning in her home and loves sharing this with friends as a gift.”
The Dining + Bar
Chelsea and Erika have created the perfect entertaining space in the dining and bar area. It’s a versatile space that’s family-friendly for everyday use but also equipped to host friends and loved ones for special occasions.
Add some texture to the decor in any room with this masculine yet elegant Leather-Wrapped Vase. Another special handmade piece from the collection, it can be used to hold candles or decorative branches and looks great in a group or as a single piece.
Make sure your bar or kitchen is complete with textural pieces like this Seagrass Cage Tumbler. They’re another way to add interest to your decor, by elevating everyday glassware. They can be used for both indoor and outdoor dining and are sure to be a conversation piece at your next gathering.
The Kitchen + Pantry
Erika’s kitchen and pantry are light and bright. A couple with two small children who love entertaining need to have a fully stocked kitchen to be ready for anything. Each piece is not only stylish but also practical and functional.
A piece like this Marcus Salt Glaze Bowl is a perfect staple to build your dinnerware table set or can be an accent piece to your existing set. The salt glazing technique creates an uneven slightly pebbled surface, as salt is thrown into the kiln during the final stages of the firing process. This glazing method gives each piece a unique finish, no two are the same.
Every kitchen needs great dish soap like this fig scented Heirloom Dish Soap – a plant-based all-natural soap that’s tough on grease and caked-on food, but gentle on hands and china. It has the same amount of strength as traditional dish soaps but without harsh chemicals.
It’s the great details and accent pieces that take a home from stark and empty to polished and comfortable. These pieces represent Erika and Mark’s design story, but we hope they will speak to yours too!
